Structural Design Engineer

Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Civil Engineering firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Structural Design Engineer in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

• Draft/model documents
• Pick up redlines in a documentation set
• Engineering support in the form of standalone analysis modeling and documentation tasks within a larger project on project teams under the direction of Senior/Project Engineer or Department Head Engineer
• Active and direct role in document production
• Interface and coordinate with other disciplines
• Mentor team members junior to them
• Develop knowledge of project types (health care, academic/lab/research, corporate/workspace) through active engagement with project teams and leadership
• Travel as project requirements dictate for surveys and field/site visits during construction
• Work under the supervision of a licensed engineer to accomplish Structural Design calculations and tasks.
• Produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
• Actively participate in personal professional development through learning code requirements, asking lots of questions, completing reference research, and attending technical training seminars.
• Assist Project Manager in construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, performing field observations, and responding to Requests for Information.

Requirements

• BS, BEng, or BAE degree in engineering relevant to the particular field of practice or equivalent as determined by the firm.
• Professional attitude
• Works well with others and is a team player
• Previous engineering and/or construction experience
• Willingness to learn
• Strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• 3+ years of experience
