Stress Analysis Engineer, Fort Worth TX (hybrid - 50% onsite required)
Exciting opportunity to further the advancement of cutting-edge technology that supports some of the top-notch US defense/intelligence services and systems with one of our major defense industry clients.
This is a 1 year contract with a high chance of extending/converting. Compensation is $70-$100.00 hourly on W2.(Contracts do not include benefits) Due to being in the US Defense industry there is a requirement for US Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearnace (Sorry no exceptions such as 3rd parties, 1099, education visas etc)
Talented Stress Analyst needed to be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of the airframe, landing gear, propulsion and system installations and all other interfaces to the airframe fuselage including electrical, controls and dynamic systems.
Duties to include:
- Produce structural substantiations in support of design, test, certification, production operations, and field operations.
- Provide part sizing, material, tolerances to design based on static and fatigue requirements using Sikorsky Stress analysis tools, classic methods, and finite element tools.
- Current focus is composite structures but includes metallic structure.
- Compute fatigue lives for predicted aircraft usage.
- Interpret detail, assembly, and installation type drawings.
- Manipulate / review model based part/assembly definition in CAD environment.
Ideal Background:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in the functions described above with demonstrated knowledge of classical and FEA based structural analysis methods.
- Strong familiarity with Finite Element Modeling of airframe structure for static and fatigue purposes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of composite airframe structure construction, analysis approaches, typical failure modes.

- NASTRAN/PATRAN
- Catia V5
- 3DX/Catia V6
- MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with Sikorsky Structural Analysis Tools and Methods
- Familiarity with composite airframe structure manufacturing methods
- Active Secret Clearance
Education:
Bachelor Degree in related field and 12 years of applicable work experience.
