The Outreach and Community Worker will be responsible for street-based outreach, community wide outreach, education, crisis intervention, referrals to partnering agencies and programs, as well as co-creating safe and supportive relationships with the young people that we serve.
Outreach Workers utilize Positive Youth Development, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Trauma Informed Care to assist clients with goal planning strategies.
This is a part time (up to 29 hours) position
Position Minimum Requirements Include:
- 3 years of relevant experience (lived experience and expertise looked upon favorably) No college degree is required.
- Experience with vulnerable populations, outreach, sexual health, mental health, and/or substance use services preferred.
- The ability to work on a team as well as independently in the community.
- Approachable with a strong skill for building trust, positive relationships and ability to engage others in sensitive conversations.
- Good organizational skills, time management skills, the ability to multi-task, and to think outside the box.
- Ability to complete documentation professionally and in a timely manner.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, passionate about working with young adults,
- Creative, innovative, bold, courageous, and brave.
- must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance that meets company minimum liability standards of $50,00/$100,000
