Location:

Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection, with the minimum in-office commitment being 1-3 days in an office per week.

Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.

The Strategic Sourcing Consultant Senior executes contracts with suppliers that perform delegated functions for highly regulated healthcare services to members. The role will facilitate all phases of contracting, including initiation/renewal paperwork to include maintenance of documentation and tracking to completion. The successful candidate will be detail oriented in monitoring required communications, support materials and ensure licensing, legal and regulatory requirements are in compliance. Effective/timely/detailed interaction with local, state, and national oversight bodies as well as internal subject matter experts and other stakeholders is essential for success.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Designs and develops data capturing and reporting approaches as well as identifying possible areas of opportunity for expense management improvement.
  • Reviews and analyzes Corporate Purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Defines current work flow, performance metrics, relationships among commodities and processes.
  • Assesses leverage opportunities across organization.
  • Responsible for the execution and implementation of traditional, sub-category sourcing strategies.
  • Executes standardized Strategic Sourcing processes for assigned sub-categories.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers for sub-categories.
  • Focuses on cost savings.
  • Participates in cross-enterprise commodity teams for sub-categories and aggressively tracks and improves non-compliance preferred supplier(s).
  • Participates in fact-based negotiations and executes contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions.
  • Implements sourcing recommendations and develops and manages e-procurement catalog content.
  • Aggressively monitors, tracks and reports supplier compliance and performance benefits.
  • Draft, structure, review, revise, and negotiate a variety of contracts with customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and departments to confirm any requested content changes to documents are agreeable.
  • Participates in fact-based negotiations and executes contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions, while facilitating across multiple subject matter expert teams in the company to implement regulatory requirements and make adjustments to contracts when needed.
  • Acts as a liaison to facilitate meetings with business partners and suppliers and additional subject matter experts as needed on program development as it pertains to the contractual language needed.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal department partners and the suppliers.
  • Prepares new and amended contracts with very little supervision, is very detailed oriented and has attention to details.
  • Tracks communications and contract status in accordance with other processes.
  • Owns contract lifecycle, including approvals, content development, version control, and execution.
  • Examines contracts and related documents to ensure completeness and accuracy as well as conformance to applicable compliance and regulatory rules.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and departments to confirm any requested content changes to documents are agreeable.
  • Provide advice and guidance related to contract structure and negotiation.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS; 6 years of experience in sourcing/supplier selection with at least 4 years experience with negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • MBA preferred.
  • CPM preferred.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers and internal customers to understand and meet their needs.
  • Recognize organizational risks, limitations, or concerning language and understand proper escalation points when language modifications are proposed by external parties.
  • Comfort and skill articulating and discussing contracting issues and working with legal partners and other departments to resolve them.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills.
  • An analytical, solutions-driven mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by positive interactions with coworkers, management, clients, and vendors.
  • Works effectively and collaboratively with other team members to accomplish mutual goals. Bring positive and supportive attitude to achieving these goals.
  • Ability to balance tasks and multiple competing priorities.
