Position Overview

This position requires a strong leader with both functional and technical knowledge, and experienced in researching, planning, developing, and implementing tools for automated testing and performance engineering. This position will be visible and requires the ability to build rapport across the organization with a strong focus on change management to be successful. The position will lead a team with both manual and automation components, with a keen eye towards incorporating more automation. The SQA Manager is accountable for developing and enhancing processes, standards, and tools performing project-specific software testing and Quality Assurance work and staying abreast of current and evolving trends, techniques and within the industry. This position is housed in a centralized shared-services organization that creates, maintains, updates, and communicates best practices, tools, templates for the disciplines of project management, SDLC methodology, UX and business analysis, application development and Quality Assurance

Location

This position is located at our office at 12720 I Street, Omaha, NE.  Work schedule is Monday - Thursday, with the option to work remote on Friday's.

Responsibilities

    Manages multiple teams performing software testing for production applications, across multiple platforms and business functions. Some of these teams are centralized and some de-centralized.
    Demonstrates strong ability to see the 'big picture' and ability to implement strategies that align tasks/people/requirements for success in meeting the goals of the business.
    Develops subject matter expertise in Kiewit's corporate and field applications to help develop software testing strategies and prioritize team activities.
    Drives the development of tools and methods for automated testing and actively promotes the use of test automation to improve QA team throughput and effectiveness.
    Assists with the creation of roadmaps and strategies for development of tools and to drive adoption within teams.
    Oversees performance and load testing efforts, ensuring that applications and services maintain desired levels of performance and reliability.
    Ensures resource workload is clearly defined and appropriately coordinated to meet deliverable timelines.
    Maintains awareness of what team members are working on, and modifies plans, schedules, and assignments as necessary to meet deadlines and quality goals.
    Anticipates issues and works aggressively to solve problems before they affect delivery timelines.
    Maintains a working relationship with other departments and teams and collaborates closely to negotiate and coordinate work across multiple delivery teams
    Provides mentoring, training, and career development for the staff. Works to develop needed skills and knowledge within the team.
    Promotes established coding standards and techniques and assists with establishing standards.
 

Qualifications


    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
    Minimum of 5 years total experience in the software development industry, 8 years preferred
    Minimum 4 years' people leader experience to include responsibility for teams of 5 or more employee and contractors, business analysts/software engineers/test engineers
    Excellent leadership skills to coach and mentor teams with varying levels of experience
    Strong written and verbal communications skills, with a focus on organizational development and building rapport 
    Ability to influence and work effectively with other departments and external vendors.
    Deep understanding of unit/system/integration testing, pipelines and DevOps practices
    Experience with the following tools: SAP, Tosca, ADO, Microsoft Power Platform.
    Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and on-prem ecosystems and terminology
