Clean Aquariums is focused on quality fish, plants, and supplies. Whether you are an experienced hobbyist or haven’t had an aquarium since you were a child and are looking for a fun and exciting opportunity, we would like to hear from you. Clean Aquariums is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who we can train to become members of our team. This role will be a combination of both fish keeping and customer service. Retail experience and experience with keeping freshwater aquariums is preferred, but not required. All necessary training will be provided.
Daily routine tasks may include:
- Cleaning and maintaining of freshwater aquariums.
- Monitoring the health of fish.
- Cleaning and maintaining of all filtration components and equipment.
- Testing and maintaining proper water parameters.
- Preparing food portions and feeding fish.
- Acquiring a solid knowledge base of fish and supply products carried in the store through product training and self-exploration, to provide up-to-date and accurate product information to customers.
- Assisting the Store Manager in maintaining an up-to-date and professional looking store by restocking, cleaning, and organizing shelves.
- Completing any additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or the Store Manager.
- Assisting customers with their needs by answering questions, providing information, and giving correct product recommendations regarding aquariums, freshwater fish, and supplies.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the aquatic life: This is a MUST. You will be with our fish most of your day. We need individuals who are dedicated and able to transfer their excitement to the customers.
- Self-motivated: We do not micromanage. We need individuals who know what must be done and take the initiative to get it done.
- Comfortable conversing with customers: Our customer service holds no bounds. Our staff are required to greet every customer that comes through our doors. We have both hobbyists and people new to the aquarium world. Being able to relate to our customers and connect with them is key.
- Positive and outgoing: A smile is contagious. This is a fun working environment, and we want people to enjoy coming to work.
- Ability to work both as a team and on your own: Our staff has a wide variety of tasks. Anything from cashier to cleaning to customer service to feeding. Teamwork is crucial to keep the store running successfully.

Qualified individuals can work AT LEAST 25/30 hours a week, with a flexible schedule. This is a retail operation; you will be expected to be available nights and weekends. You will be expected to be able to work on your feet for long periods of time. Be able to work above your head, and below your feet. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is necessary. The abilities to work with minimal supervision and to be flexible are extremely important. Must have an eye for detail and the ability to communicate well. Must be able to work well with and communicate well with the other staff. Must be able to maintain the pace required.
