Position Overview
Responsible for assisting with the overall day-to-day operations. Ensure the stores' ability to assist both customers and vendors while enforcing cleanliness, safety, company policy and contract compliance. Coach and develop store associates through both formal and informal interactions. Serve as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager or other Assistant Managers.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Asst. Manager and Store Manager in the achievement of a favorable customer shopping experience.
- Assist with office work, including signing up vendors, manage vendor processes and appropriate record keeping.
- Assist vendors with issues (i.e., complaints, corrections to data entry, contracts and collect rent).
- Assist with store supply restocking.
- Trains and Assist cashiers in the POS system.
- Perform opening and closing store procedures under specific directions.
- Verify register counts, give breaks, and effectively manage time for self and Associates.
- Execute merchandise displays and store visuals.
- Utilizes social media to drive traffic to the store.
- Ensure store policies are followed and correct violations.
- Assist with locked cases or calling vendors about offers on their merchandise.
- Answer customer and vendor phone calls or e-mail inquiries.
- Other Duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Ability to perform cash register functions and operate a computer.
- Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma - (or equivalent) education.
- Dependable, works well under pressure, courteous and friendly in Nature.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
