SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, the Textile Sorter is to process and sort all textile donations. Primary duties include sorting donated textiles based on quality and brand. In addition, the Textile Sorter must maintain the production area by keeping workstation clean, neat, and in a safe condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

1. Sort donated textile and place non-sellable items into outlet containers.

1. Sort donated textile and place non-seasonal back stock items in company provided back stock boxes.

1. Keep production area clean, neat, and safe.

1. Maintain well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

1. Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles

1. Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader.

1. Perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead or Production Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

Education and/or Experience:

Previous retail and/or stack handling experience is preferred.

Math Ability:

Level 1: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills:

No computer skills are required for this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

1. Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

1. Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

1. Standing and walking for long periods of time

1. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.

1. Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.

1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Language Ability:

Level 2: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Level 2: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
