Stone Splitter Operator
Adams Granite is a leading manufacturer of stone memorials and monuments, dedicated to quality craftsmanship and exceptional service. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Stone Splitter Operator to join our team.
Position Overview: The Stone Splitter Operator will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring that stone materials are accurately and efficiently split according to project specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate Stone Splitting Machinery: Utilize stone splitting machinery to accurately and efficiently split stone materials according to project requirements.
2. Inspect Stone Materials: Conduct thorough inspections of stone materials prior to splitting to identify any defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies.
3. Adjust Machinery Settings: Adjust machinery settings as needed to achieve the desired splitting results, taking into account factors such as stone type, thickness, grain and density.
4. Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks on stone splitting machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
5. Ensure Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
6. Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, and ownership, to coordinate workflow and meet production targets.
7. Quality Control: Participate in quality control procedures to identify and address any issues with split stone materials, ensuring that only high-quality products are delivered to customers.
8. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced, materials allocated to specific orders, machinery settings, and any issues encountered during the splitting process.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience operating stone splitting machinery or similar equipment is preferred.
2. Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude and the ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery effectively. Carpentry skills also highly desirable for ideal candidate with no prior stone experience.
3. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy stone materials and standing for extended periods.
4. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow project specifications.
5. Safety Consciousness: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
6. Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
7. Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
8. Computer Savvy: Comfortable using and learning processes on a Microsoft Windows PC.
