Job Details:
- Must be willing to travel to job different site locations on as-needed basis
- Coordinate with Project manager/GF to understand system layout and weld specifications.
- Develop a complete understanding of the contract drawings and specifications.
- Utilizes all industry standard(s) for welding techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe connections including butt weld, socket weld, threaded, grooved, flanged, compression, glued and fused joints.
- Read and understand orthographic and isometric drawings and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
- Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
- Ability to comprehend documents to include but not limited to, safety rules and regulations, THA, Welding processes and print specifications.
- Proficient in the use of bevellers, threaders, groovers and other end prep machines.
Additional:
- Maintain all tools and equipment in serviceable condition.
- Use materials and other resources conservatively to promote project success and profitability.
- Develop and maintain positive job site relationships among all trade partners & share innovative ideas for improvement that generate impactful results.
- Provide applicable input promptly to maintain current “As-Built” record drawings.
- Communication skills with all trade partners that delivers great experiences for everyone.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED, High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Minimum 4 years hands-on Welding experience
- Weld certification required OR Journeyman Certification is a plus
- 6-G Stick, 6-G Wire and 6-G TIG required or ability to test
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
