Job Summary and Qualifications

The SPD Tech II position is able to perform all roles in Sterile Processing ensuring all instruments are clean, assembled and processed for use for all customers.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Certification with either IAHCSMM OR CBSPD 
• A minimum of two years’ experience in Sterile Processing
• Ability to operate all equipment in the department troubleshooting issues when necessary. 
• Advanced knowledge of surgical instruments. 
• Ability to identify instruments sets by service line. 
• Advanced knowledge of sterilization principals including AORN , AAMI and OSHA guidelines. 
• Ability to coordinate instruments needs based on the surgical schedule and changes as they occur. 
• Effectively communicate with OR staff and peers as needed. Acts as resource for Tech 1
