Exciting Opportunity: STEM Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love for STEM subjects? Join us as a STEM Specialist where you'll lead engaging and educational STEM programs for youth. As a vital member of our team, you'll ensure every Club Member experiences the joy of learning and gains valuable skills for future success.

Hours: Monday - Friday 12:30-6:30 PM (Part-time up to 29 hrs)

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):

- Design and execute high-quality STEM activities tailored for youth aged 5-7 or 12-17, fostering curiosity, excitement, and confidence in STEM subjects.
- Engage youth, stimulate participation, and promote consistent attendance in activities by creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with youth, providing mentoring, guidance, and leadership development opportunities.
- Provide active supervision, ensuring the safety and well-being of all Club Members while motivating and encouraging their participation.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including lesson plans, attendance sheets, and other paperwork responsibilities.
- Organize special events such as guest speakers, performances, or field trips to enhance learning experiences.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, prioritizing the well-being of all participants.
- Participate in local trainings to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

Needed Knowledge:

- Thrive in dynamic, energetic environments with large groups of youth and teens.
- Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with Club members, peers, parents, and community leaders.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Willing to share your areas of interest, skills, or talents with youth to inspire and empower them.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with strong group management skills.
