Job Summary

The Steam Turbine Product Manager / Lead serves as the technical lead for Steam Turbine and its auxiliaries associated with combined cycle power project(s) from the inception to completion. Major responsibilities include coordinating all engineering activities as it relates to Steam Turbine and its auxiliaries, technical contract review, and design management for the assigned project(s).

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the technical lead for Steam Turbine and its auxiliaries associated with combined cycle power projects from project start to completion.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned equipment.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including engineers and project managers to define project goals, scope, deliverables and to ensure the equipment is delivered on time, and to the desired quality.
  • Collaborate with Customers, Engineering and Construction contractors, vendors, providing timely resolutions of engineering issues relating to the assigned product.
  • Responsible for creating and updating Technical Specifications for Steam Turbine and its auxiliaries.
  • Work with Supply Chain in obtaining proposals and evaluating them; work in conjunction with Supply Chain and Project Management in selecting the equipment manufacturer.
  • Manage Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) continuously from Project start to completion ensuring timely submission of documents and equipment delivery.
  • Collaborate with external engineering companies in designing systems around the main equipment, document review, etc.
  • Create and manage Master Document List for the equipment.
  • Manage technical specifications, procedures, and design data, as applicable to the assigned project(s).
  • Support Site and Construction Management Company during Construction and Commissioning phase by timely responding to RFIs and other information requests.
  • Support Customer Training.
  • Work with OEM in developing performance test procedures and support performance testing at site in demonstrating guaranteed output for Steam Turbine.
  • Work with Electrical team in properly designing and specifying the generator and associated systems coupled to the Steam Turbine.
  • Assists with warranty requests by assessing and executing a corrective action plan.
  • Participates in ISO 9001 and other audits.
  • Any other engineering tasks associated with the assigned equipment and project.

Work Environment

Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the fabrication shop for observation and support may be necessary which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and head protection.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

The employee must be able to bend, climb, stoop, or stretch as required to examine fabricated components at the site or fabrication shop.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime and weekend work are required, as necessary.

Travel

Anticipated 20% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power generation or similar projects working experience.
  • Experience in managing Steam Turbine as a product is preferred.
  • Familiar with ASME, NFPA, and various building codes.
  • Familiar with design and technical requirements of general mechanical equipment including Gas Turbine, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Steam Turbine, Heat exchangers, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good PC skills (MS Office software Suite, MS Project, and other software) and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Excellent presentation skills, effectively communicate with the management.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited University.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software and AutoCAD preferred.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
