What Does a Stand Up Forklift Operator Do?
A stand up Forklift Operator uses machinery to move materials in a warehouse or similar setting. Your duties may include lifting heavy loads with a forklift and placing them in the proper location. As a forklift driver, you help load and unload trucks or move deliveries from the loading dock to the warehouse. The responsibilities of a stand up forklift driver may include the operation of other equipment such as a sit-down forklift. In addition to being familiar with the controls of the forklift, you may need to perform equipment inspections and maintenance.
What Are the Requirements to Become a Stand Up Forklift Operator?
The qualifications required to begin a career as a stand up Forklift Operator include a high school diploma and the skills to operate the machinery. Some employers require previous forklift experience, and OSHA regulations require safety training for Forklift Operators. You can take the classroom portion of the training course online and then perform the practice portion through a trade school or via on-the-job training offered by your employer.
