Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience working with application security in Google Cloud Platform, or other similar Cloud solutions.
- 3 years of experience managing a team of engineering or security operations professionals for a distributed organization.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading security teams in areas of security reviews, testing, vulnerability analysis, or any other exposure to finding/verifying security issues.

As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
You are a recognized expert in at least two security domains and use your leadership skills to manage a team that sets the direction and goals for solving Google-wide problems. You identify fundamental security problems at Google and drives major security improvements in Google infrastructure.
The Cloud CISO organization is the integrated risk, security, compliance and privacy team for Google Cloud, focused on making us the trusted Cloud. The Product Security Engineering (PSE) Hardening team works collaboratively with Cloud and TI product teams to drive meaningful risk reduction through chosen security projects.
In this role, you will lead, manage and develop a team of Security Engineers, providing technical leadership, strategy and goals.

For US Candidates: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,000-$283,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Build and nurture a high-performing team working in a complex problem area.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams, represent virtualization security in long-run partnerships to ship new features or platforms.
- Guide all aspects of the Security Engineering life-cycle, including security reviews, vulnerability research, fuzzing and tool development.
- Demonstrate technical acumen to balance priorities between security work, business needs, and speed of execution.
