Summary:
We are seeking a mid-level biologist or ecologist with data management expertise to assist in growing Tetra Tech's NEPA and geospatial environmental business. Candidate must be independently motivated, technically capable, customer focused, and comfortable in a collaborative professional setting. Candidate must also have the ability to use R, Python, and state-of-the-art GIS tools to analyze geospatial data and evaluate environmental scenarios necessary for permitting and impact analysis related to ecological resources. Position requires the ability to communicate complex data analysis and findings to non-technical clients and the public. Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential.
Your Role:
- Develop and manage large geospatial databases containing both publicly available and client-generated information on ecological and environmental resources.
- Interact with project team to understand the regulatory context of the data, recommend approaches to data analysis, and generate novel queries to address project-specific needs.
- Produce GIS figures illustrating results of queries and statistical analyses.
- Develop work plans and reports for geospatial investigations, impact assessments, and other environmental projects involving ecological resources.
- Prepare materials for presentations to clients and the public.
Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent in any of the biological or natural resource-based sciences with formal GIS coursework required.
- Knowledge of and experience with the most current ArcGIS Pro mapping and analytical software, including programming using R, Python, and other relevant languages.
- Three or more years of experience in environmental consulting.
- Experience and expertise in presenting complex technical work to students and/or non-technical groups.
- A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
