Staff Scientist

Job Purpose

Responsible for technical support, focusing on soil, surface water and groundwater issues related to mining impacts environmental assessment.

Essential Functions

• Knowledge of GIS database management and creation of GIS figures.
• Data analysis of analytical and field data.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of science degree in geochemistry, hydrogeology or similar discipline
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Geographical Information Systems, Geography, Cartography or Land Surveying and Mapping
• 1-3 yrs experience

Competencies

• GIS software and computer applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, databases, and work order systems.
• Customer/client focus.
• Results driven.
• Stress management/composure.
• Teamwork orientation.

Work Environment

Operates in a normal office environment, but also requires considerable time in the field. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The position requires occasional work in outside conditions that include inclement weather

This is a full-time position.

The role may require travel.
