Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are fundamentally changing the design, economics, manufacturing, coverage limitations and service deliveryassociated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

By building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system-with a unique antenna design, highly sustainable spacecraft system and low-cost, small portable end-user devices-we can extend global satellite coverage, capacity and connectivity beyond legacy space services to provide a new kind of IoT platform that lets users sense, track, connect and act on information gathered, anywhere.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to saving space, protecting our planet and turning connectivity into actionable intelligence.

What is the role:
The functions of this role include providing strategic direction and implementation in the following areas:
Work with various engineering disciplines on concepts and requirements for spacecraft harnesses, coax, PCBs, enclosures, motors, etc.
End to end ownership of harnessing including 3D design, drawing creation, prototyping, and manufacturing support.
Own the mechanical strategy and design of rigid and flex PCBs from system level to detailed level including form factors, mounting, interconnect, environmental considerations, etc.
Mechatronics design support and testing.
Interface with systems engineering on ICDs, spacecraft AI&T, system testing, etc.

What you will do:
    • The functions of this role include providing strategic direction and implementation in the following areas:
    • Work with various engineering disciplines on concepts and requirements for spacecraft harnesses, coax, PCBs, enclosures, motors, etc.
    • End to end ownership of harnessing including 3D design, drawing creation, prototyping, and
    • manufacturing support.
    • Own the mechanical strategy and design of rigid and flex PCBs from system level to detailed level including form factors, mounting, interconnect, environmental considerations, etc.
    • Mechatronics design support and testing.
    • Interface with systems engineering on ICDs, spacecraft AI&T, system testing, etc.
What you bring to this role:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
    • 10+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 5 years of electro-mechanical design including harnessing and PCB mechanical work.
    • Skilled with CAD and harness design tools.
    • Familiarity with harness design best practices including applicable IPC standards.
    • Familiarity with rigid and flex PCB technologies.
    • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment. Proficiency with basic lab equipment like multimeters, soldering irons, crimpers, and hand tools.
Bonus points:
    • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
    • Experience with Solidworks and RapidHarness.
    • Experience with mechatronics including motors and electro-mechanical actuators.
    • Familiarity with NASA, ECSS, or SAE standards for PCB and harness design and manufacturing.
    • Experience with coax cable and RF signal basics.
    • Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design tools.
    • Experience designing for space environments.
$50,000 - $180,000 a year
The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors. For questions about this, please speak to the recruiter if you decide to apply for the role and are selected for an interview.

We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used-so we're looking for candidates with
passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-
orbit activities. If that's your experience - then we'll be immediately wow-ed.
