The role
Be the first engineer focused on platform reliability at Grid! You'll take on a number of exciting challenges personally, including scaling DevOps, continuously improving our security posture and running our cloud infrastructure.
As the founder of our Platform Engineering function, you'll have an opportunity to design, own and operate Platform Engineering as a core focus at Grid with massive impact.
What you'll do:
- Design, manage and maintain Grid's information security program
- Scale out Grid's DevOps practices to enable rapid deployment of high quality software as Grid's engineering team grows
- Deploy modern DevOps tools to enable cost-efficient, scalable Cloud Infrastructure on GCP
- As a software engineer, you'll build and operate software written in Go and deployed on GCP
- Spearhead modern best practices across engineering and operations, such as testing, continuous deployment, and cloud-first rollout automation.
- Assist with compliance programs and partnerships as needed by business operations
- Lead developer experience enhancement initiatives
- Architect and implement software reliability programs
- Improve observability and reduce MTTD/MTTR through proactive monitoring and engineering self-healing systems
You're a great candidate if you:
- Have 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Have 5+ years of experience in FinTech or a related domain
- Have 2+ years of experience in consumer software technology
- Have experience with production environments and change management
- Have experience with containerized platforms like Docker and container orchestration like Kubernetes
- Have experience building workflows and maintaining CI/CD platforms such as Github Actions and Jenkins
- Have experience with cloud platforms - we use GCP
- Have experience with infrastructure as code - we use Terraform
- Have experience with programming languages such as Go, Bash, Terraform HCL and SQL
- Have experience with BI/analytics tools - BigQuery, SQL
- Have experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Statsd, ELK, New Relic, Sumologic, or AppDynamics
