How will you make an impact?
With your experience and skill, you will be responsible for building next generation automation equipment for failure analysis of semiconductor devices. You will be part of a team that makes a direct positive impact in an industry that works diligently to bring innovative solutions to help advance the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical design tasks of highly customized, multi-million-dollar microscopes and subsystems with nanometer resolution by working closely with, and learning from, world class Marketing team, collaborate with Project Management, Operations, multi-functional engineering and scientific teams from a diverse set of backgrounds.
• Develop project specifications by collaborating with team members, often including from other engineering subject areas
• Concept, layout, and detail designs with analysis and testing as appropriate.
• Perform initial and ongoing design reviews
• Make and meet project cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
• Hands-on subsystems integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Responsible for documentations and other NPI activities. Support module and product transitions to production and aid in resolving manufacturing issues.
• Handle suppliers and contract design sources.
• Act as a domain specialist for precision mechanical systems and semiconductor capital equipment, providing key technical feedback and decision making.
Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
• Validated experience as a Mechanical Engineer with at least 7 years' design and manufacturing.
• Automation, error budgeting, tolerance analysis, materials selection, and formal problem-solving techniques.
• Established track record of planning, leading and executing team projects from feasibility through to product launch
• High proficiency using SolidWorks 3D CAD design software and familiarity with PDM systems
• Expertise in the methods and techniques and proficiency in successful product development including rapid prototyping
• Capable of leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience designing and coordinating with vendors to optimize Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Experience with product development of complex electromechanical systems
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for sophisticated systems including electro-mechanical subsystems, thermal, and optics subsystems
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Detail design, including a strong familiarity with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, internal and external standards and GD&T
• Some combination of experience with vacuum, motion, contamination, charged particle optics, high voltage, vibration, thermal, and stress analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including scheduling, budgeting and documentation
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize, and adapt to changing project priorities
