We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Northrop Grumman has an immediate opportunity to join the Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team as the lead for the Corporate EH&S Audit and Loss Control programs. The Corporate EH&S team is part of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) organization reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). The Audit and Loss Control lead will report to the Corporate EH&S Manager and serve as the enterprise focal and subject matter expert in those areas.

In this role, the successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the Corporate EH&S Audit program, liaising with other subject matter experts throughout the EH&S organization as well as the Corporate Law and Internal Audit departments. The successful candidate will manage the life-cycle of the audit program from risk assessment methodology, through audit planning, execution, reporting and corrective action tracking. The successful candidate will facilitate the identification of key performance indicators for the audit program, as well as a continuous improvement process for periodic enhancement of audit activities based on internal trending and external benchmarking. The successful candidate will need to have education/training and experience in a wide variety of EH&S compliance areas as well as EH&S management systems and will be integral to the implementation of an EH&S management systems framework within the Corporate EH&S team. The audit program lead will act as both management systems/compliance auditor as well as the enterprise subject matter expert for EH&S management systems and auditor training.

In addition, the successful candidate will act as the enterprise EH&S lead for the Loss Control program. This role entails acting as the liaison between EH&S professionals throughout the enterprise, the Corporate Risk Management team, and numerous external resources under contract to Risk Management to address EH&S related losses associated with Northrop Grumman operations. The successful candidate will assist in the identification of opportunities for loss reduction projects, facilitate the development and presentation of proposals, and facilitate implementation of approved projects by coordinating the requirements of the associated site(s), vendor(s), and risk management leadership.

The successful candidate will also serve as a lead/facilitator/subject matter expert for other EH&S initiatives within his/her areas of expertise. This may include leading enterprise level EH&S expertise centers, working groups and/or subcommittees of the Corporate Safety Committee or EH&S Leadership Committee to address emerging regulatory requirements or risk trends within the enterprise.

There is a significant amount of work-related travel anticipated for this role, and the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time to participate in EH&S audit and Loss Control program activities.
