Position: Staff Development/Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) (Salary/FT)

Summary: The Staff Development Coordinator will plan, coordinate, and deliver standardized orientation and training programs to a diverse employee population for clinical, patient services, dental, provider and administrative staff. The coordinator will ensure employees have a firm grasp of their job description and the expectations of their position. The Staff Development Coordinator actively supports BCHC in its efforts to maintain designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates actively in BCHC's mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of patient status.

Participates in the development of the infection prevention and control program and ensures that employees receive and adhere to infection control and safety, policies, standards of conduct and provides compliance training and education, as well as other training necessary to perform their job duties. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) infection control guidelines. Monitors and reports infection control information to the quality committee and the PA state system. Educates the staff on Bloodborne diseases for new staff and on an ongoing basis.
