Job description

The Counseling Center in Pleasantville is seeking a Staff Clinician with strong intake clinical assessment, and short term therapy skills.

Under the guidance of the Director, the Staff Clinician provides individualized assessment, brief term individual and group counseling, and assists with liaison, and consultation services. The Staff Clinician provides psychological evaluation, short-term psychotherapy, case management and crisis intervention during office hours (9AM-5PM) and remotely, on a rotational basis, after hours.

The Counseling Center spearheads the Equity in Mental Health task force in partnership with The Steve Fund. As a pilot institution with The Steve Fund, our Counseling Center are joined by other areas of the University to assemble recommendations for supporting the emotional well-being and mental health of students of color. Implementation of those recommendations will include collaboration across the University.

Position Duties

  • Conduct intake assessment, evaluations for short term treatment or referral to community mental health providers.
  • Provide brief term individual counseling to members of the Pace community regarding personal, academic, and educational matters.
  • Provide consultation services to members of the Pace community regarding services, programming, student and staff issues, and referrals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and post trauma response as needed.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Salary Range: $58,500 - $60,000

Work Hours

Evening hours as needed. Both in person and remote possible.
