Job Summary:
The Chaplain responds to the spiritual and religious needs of patients, families, and staff. They provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their loves ones who are confronting serious illness, making difficult treatment decisions, or experiencing the death of a loved one. They participate as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides spiritual care and support to patients and families.
  • Provides spiritual care and support to staff and faculty.
  • Responds to new admission referrals and follow-up care.
  • Responds to crisis referrals.
  • Provides or facilitates requests for sacramental ministry.
  • Provides end of life counseling and care
  • Acts as Liaison to community clergy and congregations.
  • Offers spiritual and emotional debriefing support after crisis and during times of high stress.
  • Participates with interdisciplinary team to offer spiritual support and perspective.
  • Seeks opportunities for promoting wellness and self-care for staff and faculty.
  • Contributes to the organization by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and shared decision making.

Requirements:
  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from an accredited seminary or divinity school, or equivalent.
  • Four Units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training - ACPE accredited.
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or eligible for Board Certification in two years.
  • Two years, Emergency Department experience.
  • Position is in the Adult Emergency Department and Evening shift.
