Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist
McLane Middleton, a leading New England-based law firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist in our Manchester, New Hampshire office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist will support payroll and related accounting functions for the Firm. The ideal candidate should be an individual that is a team player, enjoys a fast-paced environment, the ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, navigate change well and maintain a positive attitude. The position will be based in the firm’s Manchester, New Hampshire office.
Responsibilities:
· Process bi-weekly and monthly Payroll
· Track and administer PTO (Paid Time Off) per firm policy
· Work with the Human Resource department to manage payroll deductions for benefit plans and assist with reporting.
· Ensure confidentiality related to payroll and benefit information submitted to accounting.
· Upload 401(k) deferral files
· Support 401(k) testing, reporting and calculations for employee matching contributions.
· Assist with payroll related budgets
· Support the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager with special projects
· Monthly bank reconciliation
· Various department activities such as general ledger and account analysis.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree or equivalent experience required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 3+ years of relevant experience
· Must observe the strictest confidentiality
· Must have ADP Time and attendance system experience
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently as well as within a team
· Ability to multi-task and meet daily/monthly/annual deadlines
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Proficient with Microsoft office products (Excel and Word)
· Solid data entry, spreadsheet management, and computer skills

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
