About You: The Account Payable Staff Accountant will work closely with the CFO and other members of the accounting department to maintain the financial records of the company. The Staff Accountant will handle and assist with a variety of operational and financial functions.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entry, processing and payment
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Work collaboratively with Client Services department
- General Ledger, including journal entries and account analyses and reconciliations, as needed and/or required
- Assist with Bank Reconciliations
- Assist with implementing accounting technology enhancements and improvements
- Assist with preparation for year-end financial audit and GSA and other agency reviews or audits
- Assist CFO with special projects as needed
- Back-up others in the accounting department
- Other duties as reasonably requested and/or required
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting preferred (Candidates with some accounting course work and/or more extensive work experience will be considered.)
- 3-5 years general accounting experience
- Strong math skills
- High attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to understand complex transactions
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite required, advanced Excel skills preferred
Physical Demands: This position requires long times of sitting. The position involves skill in using a computer and/or laptop; oral and written communication skills.
