Accountants in this role are responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects including the completion of assignment tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising and directing team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares financial statements with opportunities to be involved in audit, review and agreed-upon procedures engagements.
- Prepares individual, partnership and corporate income tax returns and drafts client reports.
- Project manages one or more client assignments simultaneously, ensuring overall success of each project.
- Establishes work schedules through effective use of project management techniques.
- Organizes and controls multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve assignment objectives.
- Identifies opportunities to improve assignment profitability and identifies any risk management issues.
- Manages the implementation of solutions for clients.
- Identifies client’s needs/opportunities to sell/cross-sell products or services.
- Coaches, advises and supports team members in meeting client and self-development expectations. Provides consistent recognition and encouragement and sets an example by demonstrating high energy levels and enthusiasm.
- Performs a detailed review of the team’s work to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assigned tasks within agreed time frames.
- Develops and strengthens long-term relationships with senior client management and peer client levels.
- Develops a deeper knowledge and skills in technical field and starts to develop a specialization.
- Actively pursues self-development opportunities.
Professional Skills and Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline. 2+ years of accounting experience and a valid CPA license are preferred.
