Staff Accountant -Shared Services

The Staff Accountantwill be responsible to ensure the integrity of financial records and various account analyses throughout the month for Shared Services and the North American entities of Cartamundi Inc.

What you’ll do as a Staff Accountant:

· Perform day-to-day tasks related to banking activities, reconciling accounts, and reporting data to management and staff of Shared Services

· Use and monitor the proper internal controls and procedures to ensure that financial transactions are accurately recorded

· Prepare and input journal entries, review variances, and reclass accounts for month-end settlement and closing process

· Analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure the proper treatment of bookings, correct errors, and communicate process errors across North American sites to prevent further occurrence

· Prepare and analyze various weekly/monthly reports

· Work with Shared Services staff to ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions

· Assist Shared Services Finance Director with various projects on process improvements benefitting North American sites

· Assist Shared Services Finance Director with State Sales Tax filings, State Tax Notices for North American sites, and resolve issues

· Implement additional internal controls to review and resolve bookkeeping errors/issues

· Other duties assigned as Shared Services develops and grows

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant with:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing

· Hands-on experience with filing state sales tax returns in multiple states

· Experienced working with SAP for accounting and finance

· Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills

· Excellent time management and communication skills

· Analytical thinking and good decision-making skills

Physical requirements/working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of 1 million+ square feet of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

· Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues

· Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead

· Perform sedentary work on various computer systems

· This position is located on-site at our East Longmeadow, MA office
