Staff Accountant - Payroll

How you will enjoy your day:

Perform daily accounting functions related to the accounting office and hotel operations. Assists in many areas to complete and improve the financial process. The roll includes varied accounting functions such as income audit, daily cash, entry level reconciliations and other tasks related to accounting and accounting reporting. Position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Work Performed:

1. Bi-weekly processing of payroll.
2. Verification and entering of all payroll related changes.
3. Verification of all payroll records prior to payment of wages.
4. Maintenance of payroll related records in accordance with state laws.
5. Utilize Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
6. Create and maintain reports with speed and accuracy.
7. Maintain proper documentation and organized files.
8. Answer accounting and financial questions.
9. Research and interpret data.
10. Compute accurate mathematical calculations.
11. Work closely with other departments to ensure proper recording of information.
12. Troubleshooting common accounting problems.
13. Provides payroll and accounting support to multiple team members.
14. Handle confidential and sensitive financial information.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred or equivalent work experience. Previous hospitality experience is highly desired. Appropriate combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness. Must have strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and be accurate with an eye for detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and works well with others. Able to follow direction and work with minimal supervision.
