The Staff Accountant will partner with the Controller and Manufacturing Management by reviewing items and product costs, performing month-end closing procedures, preparing internal financial/costing reports.
Essential Functions:

• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
• Assign entries to proper accounts.
• Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
• Prepare, analyze, or verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
• Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs.
• Track and analyze fixed asset purchases and disposals.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs.
• Performs journal entries and necessary functions for monthly general ledger financial close process. Prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Assists with physical inventory.
• Assigned projects and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, and/or equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
• 3-5 years related manufacturing accounting experience is preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of Financial and Cost Accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience required. Experience with Microsoft Business Central a plus.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work cross functionally with employees at all levels.
