Staff Accountant - Internship

An internship as a Staff Accountant at McClarigan CPAs & Advisors will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients develop, manage, and strengthen their businesses through all five phases of the business cycle: expansion, peak, recession, trough, and recovery. You will receive extensive on the job training from seniors, managers and partners to prepare you to work directly with business owners, presidents, and key personnel in ensuring that our clients are regulatorily compliant, and to solve problems in the areas of accounting, tax, payroll, finance, and management.

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive industry and consulting experience and expertise in the areas of accounting, tax, payroll, finance and management, all of which is utilized to help our clients solve their complex business issues. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lives out company values and mission statement
• Preparation, examination and analysis of accounting records
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Prepare financial statements and spreadsheets
• Perform general bookkeeping
• Process payroll and payroll quarterlies
• Prepare business and personal tax returns
• Proactively develop and strengthen relationships with clients and team members
• Strive to continually learn and grow both personally and professionally
• Work independently and prioritize as appropriate to meet project deadlines
• Stay current with local and national business and economic issues
