Symphony Risk Solutions seeks the ideal candidate to fill our Staff Accountant opening in our Chicago, IL office.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization by processing, maintaining, and analyzing financial records. This includes tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, financial planning & analysis, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Record and analyze financial information, ensuring data integrity.
Process cash receipt transactions into AMS.
Monitor and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate financial reports for management review.
Support the financial planning and analysis process.
Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted financial results.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
Assist with external audits.
Collaborate with other departments to obtain and provide financial information.
Cross-train with other accounting positions (Accounts Payable).
Support the finance team in various projects and initiatives.
Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial and accounting procedures.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPA candidate a plus
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
Knowledge of AMS a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Tableau a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment:
This position is a full-time, hybrid/remote position, a minimum of 3 days in the office is required. Occasionally working after hours may be required in order to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position. The work environment involves the use of typical office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, etc. in a controlled climate.
