Creighton Community Foundation, a local non-profit in central Phoenix is seeking an experienced accountant who absolutely loves numbers and has a passion for accounting for a very part time job assisting our Finance Director.
This is a perfect opportunity for a retiree to spend a little bit of time each week doing what you love or for an accountant who is looking for a side-gig to bring in a little extra and help the community at the same time.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting knowledge, ideally with non-profits, and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables and experience with various accounting software. A passion for working with a non-profit that helps the community is helpful.
Must have own laptop.
Must live in Arizona, preferably in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix, Glendale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale, etc)
Duties include analyzing general ledger accounts and making adjustments as necessary; preparing financial statements and other financial schedules; preparing grantor supporting documents; and performing month-end close procedures.
Responsibilities
- Post cash activity to the General Ledger
- Analyze financial information and make adjustments to the General Ledger as necessary
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and prepare financial statements by the 12th of each month
- Prepare schedules for audit and tax returns
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Job Type: Part-time flexible 5-10 hours per weeks
Salary: $35.00
Position is primarily Remote, though an occasional office visit may be necessary, especially during initial training.
