RITA Corporation is hiring a full-time Staff Accountant to add to our accounting team. This position is a direct hire role. The right candidate will have several years of accounting experience in areas such as payables, receivables, maintaining a general ledger, corporate income taxes and annual audits.

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile account balances, bank statements and maintain general ledger
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Prepare financial statements
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Conduct periodic reviews to identify and address any potential compliance issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Propose and implement changes to streamline accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with other finance and accounting team members to ensure smooth cross-functional workflows.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance (or equivalent education and experience)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills, VLOOKUP and pivot tables are a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports
- Strong understanding of US tax regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and owner information
- Solid organizational skills, ability to maintain an electronic filing system
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
