Staff Accountant

RITA Corporation is hiring a full-time Staff Accountant to add to our accounting team. This position is a direct hire role. The right candidate will have several years of accounting experience in areas such as payables, receivables, maintaining a general ledger, corporate income taxes and annual audits.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile account balances, bank statements and maintain general ledger
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Prepare financial statements
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Conduct periodic reviews to identify and address any potential compliance issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
• Propose and implement changes to streamline accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with other finance and accounting team members to ensure smooth cross-functional workflows.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance (or equivalent education and experience)
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills, VLOOKUP and pivot tables are a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports
• Strong understanding of US tax regulations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and owner information
• Solid organizational skills, ability to maintain an electronic filing system
• Superb time management skills and detail orientation
• Ability to sit for long periods of time

Pay: $63,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
