Staff Accountant

Our client, a large commercial services company with operations throughout the US, seeks an Accountant to join their Corporate Accounting/Finance team. This is a newly created position added due to company growth and a highly visible position within the company. The person hired will gain considerable knowledge working with experienced and talented CPAs. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for working in fast-paced environments are musts. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
• Assist with cash management/treasury
• Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that include numerous journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Prepare account reconciliations and monthly roll forwards
• Assist with intercompany transactions
• Prepare corporate member payroll
• Record prepaids, fixed assets, and calculate & communicate overhead expenses to be charged to subsidiary companies
• Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA or CPA eligible preferred
• Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
• 1-2 years of overall general accounting experience
• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures
• Deep understanding of Financial Statements
• Bank and GL account reconciliation experience preferred
• Journal entries experience
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
• Must have excellent time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
