POSITION SUMMARY:
4X Industrial, LLC is currently looking for an outgoing and highly motivated Staff Accountant to assist the CFO and Controller in daily accounting and finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank account reconciliation, operational and financial reporting, job costing, audit preparation, sales and use tax preparation, and other administrative functions and special projects as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, aging reporting, cash receipts application, cash flow and treasury management.
- Analyze and find solutions to complex financial and accounting problems.
- Prepare cash and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- Perform general cost and project accounting.
- Assist in documenting the Company’s system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in monitoring cash flows into and out of business.
- Assist the Controller in reviewing all journal entries and approving account reconciliations.
- Review bank account and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist in timely completion of month end close procedures.
- Assist in the production of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate with external financial and compliance auditors and tax preparation accountants.
- Assist with sales tax filings in various states.
- Make recommendations and work with team to streamline and improve accounting processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reporting and presentations for owner and senior management.
- Assist with cash management and forecasting, as well as payroll, payroll tax reporting, metrics, and compliance.
- Supervise AP staff to ensure invoices are coded correctly and entered timely, AP accounts are reconciled, and AP is closed monthly on schedule.
- Supervise AR staff to ensure that bank and receivable accounts are reconciled monthly, deposits are verified daily, credit cards are verified daily, take ownership of elevated AR collections.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned by the CFO and Controller.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
- A minimum of 3+ years’ relevant experience in a similar Accounting or Financial role.
- Advanced‐level computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook).
- Advanced‐level experience working with a wide variety of accounting software packages (familiarity with
Deltek ComputerEase a plus).
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail required.
- Ability to apply solid problem‐solving skills to complex situations.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects and tasks independently and simultaneously within a defined timeframe.
