Form of workOur Stable Hand candidate will be passionate and diligent in the total care of horses in trail riding, sleigh rides, and off-season times. The candidate will be a team member and have excellent guest relations.
Stable Hand Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcome, introduce, and orient guests to the stables
- Make preparations for all scheduled trail rides and sleigh rides
- Assist with daily tasks and chores such as feeding and cleaning stalls
- Harness and tacking up horses depending on the season
- Help with various projects around the stable grounds (fences, waterers, stacking hay, etc.)
- Create a fun and exciting, yet safe environment for our guests
- Actively manage all safety concerns by following company policy and procedure
- Additional tasks or duties as assigned
Trail Guide and Wrangler Qualifications:
- Extensive (5+ years) of direct horse care experience
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Punctual for early mornings
- Must possess a good understanding and observation of horse health
- Ability to effectively manage risk
- Possess the desire and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
