Salary Level: The salary range for this position is $76,000- $84,000 USD commensurate on experience

In support of that mission, the Corporate Partnerships Team manages Mercy Corps' relationships with major US companies by raising unrestricted revenue, co-creating strategically restricted grants and elevating Mercy Corps' brand profile. We set bold agency-wide strategies, develop and manage relationships with corporate partners, and advance Mercy Corps' mission through funding and partnerships. The Position Mercy Corps is recruiting for a part-time STA- Deputy Director, Corporate Partnerships to join a dynamic team that is responsible for partnership development and fundraising in support of Mercy Corps' global operations. The Temporary Deputy Director will support the Directors of Corporate Partnership in fulfilling the daily operations required for successful partnership, with a focus on partnership elements or opportunities that support relationship management, increase awareness and giving from employee audiences and raise strategic funds.The successful candidate will have relationship management experience, an understanding of industry trends in corporate social responsibility, and a successful track record of securing philanthropic gifts. This temporary position will provide additional capacity and coverage to the Corporate Partnerships team during a period of transition. Essential Job Responsibilities

PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS

  • Manage the implementation of projects that support Corporate Partnerships, including donor meetings, profile elevating events, campaigns and communications to ensure donor satisfaction and increase the probability of ongoing support
  • Write or edit concepts, proposals, reports, pitch decks, updates and stewardship materials.
  • Collaborate with program operations to match key program needs with potential corporate funders.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including field representatives, the Technical Support Unit, mass market fundraising, employee and matching gifts, marketing and communications to ensure that corporate donor relationships are successful.
  • In partnership with Directors and Employee Engagement and Senior Officer, Workplace Giving develop and implement employee engagement strategies to drive awareness and increase unrestricted support through workplace giving
  • Develop and implement personalized communication and stewardship plans for key Corporate Partnerships.
Supervisory Responsibility None. Accountability Reports Directly To: Deputy Director, Corporate Partnerships + Engagement
Works Directly With: Deputy Directors and Directors of Corporate Partnerships, Corporate and Foundations Partnerships team, key stakeholders in Brand Marketing and Communications, Technical Support Unit, field teams in over 40 countries.
 
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders

We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects. Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills  
  • Proven ability to manage projects and competing priorities.
  • 5+ years of increasingly responsible work in corporate fundraising, corporate responsibility or corporate sales strongly preferred
  • Successful track record managing donor relationships and securing donations in support of social impact work
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in teams to develop and execute strategy for successful partnership experience and engagement
  • Understanding of the corporate decision making process
  • Understanding of international aid and development strongly preferred
Success Factors

The successful Deputy Director, Corporate Partnerships will be an outstanding project manager and relationship builder, with both external and internal stakeholders. They will skillfully coordinate cross-functional teams to complete the projects and work required to move relationships forward and help Mercy Corps reach its partnership goals. They will demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking and be highly organized and results-focused. They will represent both the programs and heart of Mercy Corps to external audiences with passion and professionalism. Lastly, they will demonstrate empathy, strong emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate successfully with other teams.
