This position will provide dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) support to the Production Services teams; a critical organization within Operations that includes Instrumentation & Electrical and Water Operations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Enabling sustainable Operational Excellence (OE) by focusing on Workforce Safety and health,
- Supporting Emergency Management,
- Coordinating HSE support for high-risk scopes of work across all areas
- Supporting efforts to prevent incidents with a focus on eliminating serious injuries and fatalities through providing guidance on implementation and execution of processes and procedures that comply with HSE regulatory requirements and Chevron expectations, and
- Identifying HSE gaps, developing solutions, and implementing improvement plans.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant HSE experience
- Demonstrated fluency in workforce, safety, and health requirements, with a focus on serious injury and fatality prevention, incident investigation and reporting and emergency management. Proven ability to identify HSE gaps and to resolve gaps through coaching, creating solutions where they may not exist and initiating interventions in partnership with various levels of the workforce. Experience responding to requests, advising on HSE concerns, and making required incident notifications. Experience gathering incident information, protecting scenes, and conducting investigations.
- Follows procedures, seeks understanding of hazards, and verifies necessary safeguards are in place and sufficient. Challenges norms and stops work when an unsafe condition or act may result in an undesirable event or if the task is unclear. Applies Human and Organizational Performance principles to minimize error-likely situations in the performance of their work. Understands reporting requirements for incidents, near misses and potential noncompliance and acts accordingly.
- Works collaboratively & seeks diverse perspectives from cross functional groups that include contractors, engineers, and operations personnel. Able to connect on shared goals. Removes barriers to safety through collaboration and teamwork using strong written and oral skills. Able to influence a positive working culture and establish trust with teams and individuals. Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and positively contribute to results. Comfortable providing feedback & being receptive to feedback received. Demonstrated ability to share best practices and mentor less experienced employees. Respectfully challenges the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
