We’re hiring an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to Live. Work. Explore. in Mount Rushmore!

 

Job Summary:
Assists with managing the day to day operations of Food and Beverage.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Start Date: Immediately
Pay: $25/hr.
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for continued supervision, development and training of 2-20 employees in a designated area of the operation.
  • Lead, train, and inspect the performance of assigned staff, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the property's standards. Follow and enforce all policy, procedures and service standards.
  • Assist in schedules or supervises scheduling of staff. 
  • Oversees food preparation for menu planning and related activities in the main dining room, employee dining room, and banquet operations.
  • Inspects food service facilities to ensure that equipment and buildings meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations.
  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.
  • Analyzes information concerning facility operation such as daily food sales, patron attendance, queue times and labor costs to maintain cost control of facility operations.
  • Inspects and tastes prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all coworkers, crew, and supervisors.
  • Assists with managing inventory, including ordering and receiving of product when the Food & Beverage Manager is out of the office.
  • Evaluates business levels and prepares employee work schedules that maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications

 

  • Two years of previous manager experience is preferred, ideally within a fast casual and quick service restaurant. We'll also consider candidates who have worked in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
  • We're looking for positive team players with flexible schedules who like to have fun and have the passion to work. 
  • Will consider a Bachelor's degree in lieu of previous manager experience.
  • ServSafe Manager certification required within 60 days of hire. Company will pay for this certification upon hire or recertification if required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where project priorities, task deadlines, and assignments can change quickly and with little notice.
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision while working within the guidelines set by their supervisors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand and walk frequently
  • Use hands to handle and reach frequently
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally 
  • Lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
