Summary:
Responsibilities encompass all administrative and physical material handling activities associated with shipping and receiving products, materials, supplies, and equipment. Additional responsibilities entail minor repairs to returned product and installation of options on product prior to shipment.
Responsibilities:
- Pick and process orders.
- Prepares goods for final shipment; prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped; posts weights and shipping charges.
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Installation of options on product prior to shipment per the purchase order.
- Daily cycle counting.
- Daily maintenance of warehouse work environment.
- Weekly stocking of air shipments.
- Unloading of containers and putting away stock as they occur.
- Responsible for answering questions related to shipments via email or telephone to internal customer service group.
Required Experience and Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in materials handling
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability and desire to work cooperatively on a team with others
- Ability to demonstrate concern for satisfying one’s external and/or internal customers
- Ability to tackle a problem using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach
- Ability to identify what needs to be done and do it before being asked or before the situation requires it
- Ability to function effectively under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of difficult situations and deadlines
- Understand the importance of using safety equipment and follow safety procedures to protect oneself and others.
