- In a superviosry capacity a) plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and importance or b) is responsible for the entire engineering program of of limited complextiy and scope. The extent of responsbility generally require (3 to 5) subordinate supervisors or team leaders with at least one in comparable position to Project Engineer.
- As individual researcher or worker, conceives, plands and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complecity.
- As a staff specialist, serves as specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes for an assigned area of responsiblity. Keeps abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting KCI for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of program or new programs warranted by such developments. Assists in proposals, negotiations, and presentations.
- Work with all departments within the company to develop client relationships that lead to sustainable profitable revenue.
- Some overnight travel required as well as travel to other KCI and client offices as needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work. Master's degree preferred.
- 6 - 10 years of professional experience. PE Required.
- The target candidate will have experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems.
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
- Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
- Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
- Complete other duties as required/assigned
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
- Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
- Chart and provide task performance results
- Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
- Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
- Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
- Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
- Provide technical project and staff oversight
- Serve as task manager on select projects
- Compare field data to base plan
- Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
- Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
- Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
- Review and approve shop drawings
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
