Job purpose
The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
This position will Implement, support, and/or manage Global Supplier Development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launches of new programs and resourcing activities. Responsibilities will include leading APQP process as part of new product launches and resourcing projects, coordinate technical reviews, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements. Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Quality training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements to meet established objectives. Work is more complex with difficult situations requiring detailed investigation. Review of work results is based on objectives at predetermined milestones.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead APQP process as part of new product
  • Recognized expert in a particular commodity and/or process
  • Follows established procedures and best practices
  • Provide input in commodity strategy
  • Drive business process improvements
  • Work is more complex with difficult situations requiring detailed investigation
  • Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult and complex problems
  • Review of work results is based on objectives at predetermined milestones
  • NPI and Resourcing launches
  • Coordinate technical reviews and assessments
  • Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements
  • Conduct Supplier Quality training at Suppliers
  • Drive performance improvements to the established objectives at Suppliers
  • Individual contributor
  • Coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at Supplier

What we're looking for
  • 8 plus years of experience
  • Recognized process expertise
  • University Diploma in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Ability to provide some mentoring to mid-level SDE's/SQE's
  • Strong functional and technical skills
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to lead an area of expertise or process
