Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Geoscientist within our Permian Enhanced Oil Recovery Business Unit Development Team based in Houston.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work closely with Development and Asset team members for preparation of Field Development Plans (FDPs) for core Permian EOR assets to meet business needs (i.e. CARB/MRV certification for conventional reservoirs and long-term LCV contracts).
Coordinate with the Asset team Geologist and Lead Geoscientist and stay abreast with assigned core FDP asset's G&G data and subsurface studies (i.e. geological, petrophysical, geophysical data, geo-model limitations etc.). Identify potential untapped opportunities (e.g. OAP, F-pay, ROZ expansion etc.) for core FDP assets.
Identify the need and coordinate advanced geoscience studies for core FDP assets with Lead EOR Geoscientist and functional teams.
Evaluate and provide geoscience inputs for FDP projects (e.g. volumetric estimates, maps, cross-sections, sector models for fit-to-purpose numerical studies etc.)
Evaluate potential development opportunities for core FDP assets, Inventory Growth team and/or pilot projects (e.g. ROZ delineation, areal and/or vertical core-up, sequestration potential in aquifers and depleted reservoirs etc.)
Assist in AFE generation and reserves bookings for FDP projects (i.e. reservoir richness and petrophysical property maps, reservoir volumetrics, cross-sections, geo-model review etc.)
Prepare and effectively deliver presentations to peers and management
Qualifications -Required
Education: BS degree in Geology
Experience: Minimum of 5 years E&P experience with Field Development exposure
Some experience with Petrel modeling, log interpretation, working with large datasets
Qualifications - Preferred
Education: MS or PhD degree in Geology
Permian Basin field development experience
Carbonate Reservoir Characterization experience
Log interpretation skills with the ability to integrate hundreds of wells into a stratigraphic interpretation quickly and efficiently
Experience in reserve estimation
CO2 Flood or Waterflood Experience
Highly knowledgeable in Petrel and 3D geologic modeling
