Driven Car Wash is seeking a full-time, in-office, Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position is based in Northwest Chicago Suburbs. Our Staff Accountant will take a lead role with responsibilities that include reconciling balance sheet accounts, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. This position will report into the COO.
- Coordinate various aspects of the accounting cycle for multiple retail business units
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
- Post daily cash and credit cards
- Provide financial support for retail stores & support the Retail growth strategy
- Develop standard SOP’s as well as train retail store management on cash handling and daily accounting procedures
- Monitor retail development projects and ensure proper recording
- Develop and compile weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports
- Assist with audit research requests
- Develop and monitor retail store KPI’s and dashboard
- Serve as back-up to other accounting team members
- Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and employees
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Experience and Education Required:
- 5+ years of experience (preferably in retail accounting or real estate accounting).
- Industry knowledge in retail, real estate, and/or professional services.
- Process mapping, developing work instructions and standard procedures.
- Significant Experience with Quickbooks online accounting systems is required.
- Prior experience with multi-state operations is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred)
