Sr. Service Capability Engineer (Java, Python, Api)

POSITION SUMMARY
Job Title: Service Capability Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL or Cincinnati, OH (Must be on-site 3 days a week)
Job Summary: A product (customer analytics solution) utilized by thousands to access data and reporting insights is being replaced. The on-premise technologies will be deprecated and replaced with this system that is being developed in-house. Cloud migration will allow for greater degrees of interoperability. The new product will simplify and streamline reporting and reimagine and enhance key capabilities (like exports and custom attributes). This new product will deliver new capabilities for customers, create a better user experience, and maximize data reuse, composability, and discoverability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates developer friendly service interfaces
• Develops business logic
• Publishes and validates services to API Catalog
• Creates and updates API Documentation

You must have senior-level professional experience with:

• JAVA
• Python
• API Design & Development
• Containers / Kubernetes
• Azure Cloud Services
• Terraform
• GitHub / Actions

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications/Requirements:

• B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience with SDLC
• Minimum of 5-7 years of JAVA programming experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of Python programming experience
• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional work experience demonstrating an advanced capacity for python-based software engineering for applied analytical and scientific data delivery, manipulation, and augmentation from a systems perspective

• Ability to write high quality modular python code for internal data services and product features
• Employs programming and software development best practices to take ownership of various internally developed and maintained python libraries
• Proven senior level experience designing APIs, publishes and validates services to API Catalog, and create API documentation
