Job Summary:

This position is to join the Medium Range Air Defense (MRAD) team supporting the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) programs. The Sr. Program Quality Engineer will be a part of the Launcher Integrated Product Team (IPT) focusing on production at Raytheon’s Andover, MA location in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will provide in-depth knowledge of Quality Management System requirements and work within integrated teams to analyze, control and improve product quality. They will lead and support continuous improvement projects and facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts. They will implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk and improve customer deliverable products.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop partnerships with program and production leaders, IPTs, and support functions to drive issue resolution and implement improved processes.
  • Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Interpret command media in compliance to work being performed.
  • Implement product quality strategies using resources such as Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of engineering experience.
  • Working experience with quality tools, to include Pareto Analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
  • Working experience translating external and internal requirements and command media.
  • Working experience with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Six Sigma, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics and statistical control methodologies.
  • Technical understanding of, PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Capability Assessments.
  • Proficiency with Process Re-invention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM) or SAP.
  • Proficient with presentation software such as Microsoft Office PowerPoint
  • Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers and in a team environment
  • Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply resolution–making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
  • Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills.

Additional Information:

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
