We're looking for a Safety Assurance Lead within our Community Operations organization to help ensure that the safety controls we have put in place to keep the platform safe and build trust with customers are functioning as intended. This role will be responsible for building program foundations, evaluating effectiveness of safety controls that fall within CommOps' domain, conducting comprehensive root cause analyses of prior incidents, and remediating findings.
You will be reporting into the Sr. Director of Global Safety, Identity, Risk, and Payments (GSIRP) Programs within Community Operations and will work cross-functionally with the Global Safety Assurance team within the Central Safety organization at Uber. Your efforts will produce better outcomes for our customers and will help us deliver what we've set out to do - reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and socialize program foundations and establish communication cadence to provide regular updates to key stakeholders on the progress of the Safety Assurance program
- Contribute to building a master control repository with documentation requirements and requirement status
- Build a repository of all GSIRP controls (Standards, Knowledge Bases, SOPs, help nodes, training material, etc) and required tooling, and map them to Safety Policies and Standards
- Identify and incorporate control performance metrics, where applicable, into existing dashboards/continuous monitoring tools
- Perform self assessments of key controls to ensure compliance with global safety policies and standards AND that they are performing as intended/designed
- Investigate major on-platform safety incidents and conduct comprehensive root cause analyses, and ensure findings and gaps are identified, logged, and remediated
- Assess the current state of Uber's safety help center and identify/execute opportunities to improve help center functionality as it relates to process assurance
- Minimum 8+ years experience in management consulting, program management, operations and/or related field
- 3+ years managing a Trust & Safety support program
- Bachelors Degree with focus in Business
- Experience with leading safety management system (SMS) processes
- Experience with safety or compliance programs at global scale
- Experience with designing processes, process optimization, program management, and/ or process assurance Demonstrated experience in managing complex internal organization structures
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
