Do you want to join a fast-growing company where the work you do will make a real difference? Join us as we pursue our exciting new vision to make machine data accessible, usable and valuable to everyone. We are a fast-growing company filled with people who are passionate about our product and seek to deliver the best experience for our customers. At Splunk, we're committed to our work, customers, having fun and most importantly to each other's success.
Understanding how infrastructure and systems impact user experience is critical as applications become distributed and more sophisticated. Splunk Observability Cloud is a new generation of SaaS-based Observability solutions that helps customers deliver and operate better, faster, and more reliable applications.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Principal UI Architect to support the UX and UI development and architecture across the entire Observability Cloud suite. This role is critical as we aspire to build products that are not only powerful and scalable, but also intuitive and elegant to use. We move fast and iterate quickly. We are obsessed with solving customers' problems. We have ambitious goals to build best-of-its-kind products. If you possess a passion for outstanding technology leadership and embrace the challenge of building an effective user experience, this position is for you.
Responsibilities
  • Connects the dots across Product Management, UX Design, and Engineering to help the team navigate various constraints and balance short-term and long-term goals.
  • Works across multiple Product teams with a deep understanding of all products in Observability Suite in order to guide the team to develop a unified user experience and integrated user interface architecture.
  • Active at a technical level, participating in design and code reviews and taking a hands-on role for strategically important, potentially risky technical initiatives.
  • Exhibits a growth mindset and provides mentorship and teaching, helping others build the soft skills required to drive impact through influence as well as direct contribution.
  • Participates in hiring, mentoring, and promoting engineers, especially senior frontend engineers.
  • Ability to delegate, showing a strong understanding of when you must be involved in something versus when a specific task is a meaningful growth opportunity for others.
  • An effective communicator who is regularly leveraged as the technical spokesperson for driving architectural ideas and decisions and advocating for them with senior leaders.
  • Participates in high-profile and critical customer engagements and visits customers as needed.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering large-scale SaaS solutions with sophisticated UI/UX components.
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitating great collaboration across functions.
  • Track record of instigating and driving org-wide changes.
  • Strong expertise in software engineering, with a focus on web frontend architecture and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
What We Offer
  • Opportunities to develop and grow as a senior technical leader. This role is aligned with key business priorities and significantly impacts how we build products and technologies.
  • A team of incredibly capable and dedicated peers, all the way from engineering to product management and customer support.
  • Opportunities to build outstanding products for engineers just like yourself.
  • A stable, collaborative, and supportive work environment. We work in an open environment, work together to get things done, and adapt to the team's changing needs. We keep it real by being open and honest.
  • Balance. We want you to be successful outside of work too! We trust our colleagues to be responsible with their time and commitment and believe that balance helps cultivate a positive environment.
  • Fun. We are committed to having every employee want to give their all, be respectful and a part of the family, and have a smile on their face while doing it.
