About Us:

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Job Summary:

  • Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) directorate develops, evaluates, and implements architectures solutions for our customers’ largest, most complex challenges across all operational domains.

  • We define and develop novel solutions to emerging operational needs, push the boundaries of innovation to establish next generation mission solutions, and chart a course for Raytheon and our customers you will be proud to look back on.

  • Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to execute system level studies and visualization based on customer requirements.

  • As a Senior Principal Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer, you will lead and participate in challenging multi-disciplinary operations research analysis projects across integrated product teams.

  • You will work to mature the resident capabilities of government provided mission level simulations like AFSIM and/or engagement simulations like BRAWLER, ESAMS, RADGUNS, EASDIM.

  • You will partner with Performance Simulations teams to integrate a missile’s flight simulation into the model and/or with Signal Processing as you add sensors and other effects into the simulation.

  • You will participate in the design of experiment, enhancement development, and utilization of various government provided simulation software tools in advanced technical computing environments.

  • You will contribute to system modeling and data analysis activities for the purposes of supporting new business, missile system design and tradeoffs, survivability assessments and flight tests according and/to the program schedule.

  • You will mentor the next generation of Operations Research practitioners as they mature and develop their knowledge of performing effective trade studies that answer program and customer concerns.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will participate in the development and implementation of model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission and engagement level simulations and ensure they meet defined requirements and performance.

  • You will contribute your knowledge of performance engineering practices, and procedures, to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems to answer questions such as: what should be the next system improvement; or what is the effectivity of the missile against a single or multiple threats; or what counter measures should be considered to increase effectivity and/or survivability and other operational performance related questions.

  • You will contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving inputs from the program, external customers, or team experts, and work on diverse projects, as you determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that will generate the supporting data to inform programmatic decisions.

  • You will provide simulation and modeling and analysis development support throughout the product lifecycle.

  • You will mentor and grow ISMA’s ability to evaluate data produced by government provided models for accuracy and applicability to support design decisions, trade studies, or requirements generation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in operations research, Engineering, Science, Physics, or Mathematics and a minimum of fifteen (15) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in Systems Engineering or Operation Research, with specific experience in the following areas.

  • Typically requires 15 to 20 years simulation experience with government engagement models like BRAWLER, AFSIM, Suppressor, RADGUNS, or ESAMS in a modeling & simulation position.

  • Experience in mission level analyses and engagement level analyses.

  • Experience in applying software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ to either add new capabilities or determine issues with the underlaying provided models.

  • Experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python to set up the runs for the simulations or develop tools for data analysis.

  • Experience in creation of models and simulations in support of AFSIM (not solid modeling).

  • Experience in evaluating government provided models for errors and adding new and complex capabilities to the models such and networking, swarming, or other advance effects.

  • Experience in optimization of application performance to reduce run times and data reduction, optimizing the design of experiments framework so the required variables are tested efficiently.
